Congressman Luis Guiterrez (D) IL http://gutierrez.house.gov/ traveled to Majority Whip Congressman Kevin McCarthy’s http://kevinmccarthy.house.gov/ Bakersfield, CA, district and staged an immigration town hall meeting.  CHIRLA member employed a clipboard filled with voter registration forms, then she interviewed attendees at the town hall in Spanish – seeking to register voters. She found a woman who was seated in front of our group and registered her to vote. The transaction was conducted in Spanish.
